Kunpeng Airlines is China’s new regional airline, the product of an historic joint- venture agreement between Shenzhen Airlines and Mesa Air Group, signed in Beijing in December 2006.

The first aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ 200, was unveiled in Phoenix on Wednesday August 15,2007 by Mesa Air Group Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Ornstein. The event was attended by hundreds of Mesa employees along with members of the CAAC, China’s Civil Aviation Authority; Chinese and American flight crews and Kunpeng Airlines Deputy General Manager, Mike Ferverda.

Kunpeng Airlines began regional jet services in the Peoples Republic of China in October, 2007 and expects to have 20 aircraft in service in time for the Beijing Summer Olympic Games in 2008.
